Well, I've seen mine cut paper, baling twine, weedeater string and hair. That's why I keep my sharpener handy. And, if that fails, I fuss a little and buy a new pair. He'll eventually get the message.

My late husband thought anything in my sewing room was fair game: cut anything with the scissors, use the chalk to mark something he was working on, use my marking pencils. Finally made a felt case for my scissors and said that anyone using them would be executed immediately!

I made the mistake of taking them to church to help some ladies tie quilts. One of them (who I thought was really a quilter, and should have known better) used my scissors to pry up the tacks that held the fabric to the wooden quilting frames! I bit my tongue and quickly took them as soon as she laid them down. Why don't others 'get it'??

I was just the opposite when I lived with my parents. Everything in my Dad's garage was fair game for quilting. My dad always was irratated with me because I'd borrow his rulers and pencils when I quilted at his house. I'd hear him bellow "Sarah June, where's my large square?" "have you seen my tape measure" I only had a small tape measure at the time. Dad had this cool metal one that measured everything I needed and I could lock it in position.
This was before the fancy rulers we have now.

You know, Deb, I've never heard you mention your husband! LOL

Sorry, didn't see the above quote until too late. Like a magazine, I was reading from page 10 back to page one. Oh, well.

When you think about it, why let scissors get you all stressed out?
