I belong to DeKalb County Quilt Guild (DCQG) for short. We are in the midwest in Corn Country and have core as our logo. Names are great but not as important as deciding your goals and community commitments. Go slow and do not over commit. Once people know you exist you will get request s to assist. Our guild does things for the local seniors home. Lap robes and walker pockets. Small quilts for the neonatal unit at a hospital and pillow cases for cancer patients. We have around 100 members so people do what makes them happy. Small groups can get overwhelmed if you do too much too soon with limited membership.
Enjoy the companionship and learning opportunities.

The first one I belonged to was called "Sisters Choice" because my sister and I started the guild. It has since disbanded the one I belong to now is called "In the Beginning" as we meet in our church

Spice, how long has your group been in existence? And how does a group go about acquiring these needy situations that would ask for or require quilted items? I think that we will have a limited number of members in our group. Is there a requirement for each member to supply something to contribute? This will be my first real "guild" so I am very interested in the reasons for a guild other than the friendship and possibly learning.

Our guild is named "Piece Makers". We have a pieced heart in red, white and blue, as our logo.

My guild was established many years ago so the name of it is the town's name. Not much imagination at all from the founding members.

My MI group is called Thimble Buddies, we are a very small 20 or so, more a sewing club than a true guild. We do charity and personal projects.

In FL, we are just a charity club, called Labor of Love.

Most of the guilds around here have the name of their town or region in the name. I'm with the River City Quilter's Guild. The only non-territory names I found on the quick are the North Wind Quilters and the Flying Needles Guild.

Is there any intersting history about Ohio that you could use in a name?

Ours is called the Red River Quilting Guild. Most guilds that I can think of have a location and the label quilting guild. I guess that helps others know where and what.
