Sometimes IO can't afford to buy the raffle ticket but will give a donation of what I can afford. Here in Australia the tickets are usually $2 each or 3 for $5 depending on what the item is and what it is really worth.

It depends. I will not pay anything for a raffle ticket of any kind that is sponsored by an organization whose purpose I do not support.

How about doing a silent auction, that way the quilt will go to the highest bidder. I have donated a lap quilt for one silent auction in our town, I stated the fair market value as $50, and someone bid $50 on it.

I have to agree with this too.

Ditto, I find if you sell them $1 ea. or 6/$5 you make more.

Our quilting group recently raffled a quilt, and charged $2.00 a ticket.
We raised a total of $980.00 for the flood victims here in Bendigo.

More depressed areas, cheaper tickets. More affluent areas, higher prices.

This will be the only thing raffled off and I am wondering how much to charge per ticket. I know I have bought tickets in the past that were like $2/each or 3 for $5, but am wondering what others out there pay.

This is for a mission trip that my daughter is going on with a group of students from Liberty University. It is expensive and we need to make as much as possible.

Would you pay $5 for a quilt raffle ticket? I'm thinking we could do $5/each or 3 for $10. I know personally I would pay that much for a ticket on a quilt that I loved (and also for a cause that I supported), but don't want to set this price if it is a really bad idea.

    Your thoughts?
Only if it were for a charity that I approved of.

Whatever price you set, people will buy if they like to take a chance of owning a beautiful quilt.
