I've made some with stars on them which look festive. I'm new to this forum and haven't worked out how to add photos, but they are on this link: http://www.ludlowquiltandsew.co.uk/S...lace_mats.html

Several yrs.ago I made 30 for a family dinner....I made them round...about 14in round...but make them a size that suits your need...used up all my odds & ends of Christmas fabric....then each family took theirs home to use again.

I use a pattern called Table Graces (QuiltWoman.com) With so many beautiful holliday fabrics it gives you a chance to focus on them and add accents.

If you go to www.quiltcetera, there is a very easy placemat pattern, using 4 fat quarters & makes 4 mats. You don't even have to bind them.
