Would you rather....

I have some quilts that I use and some I don't. I bought a quilt that is hand appliqued with Iris all over it, made in the early 1950's. I would never use that quilt, and I am passing it on to my son who loves Iris. I will give him the strong message that this quilt should be preserved. I make many quilts and the people I give them to always use them. My daughter's dog Norah Jean loves to chew on them too and I repair them over and over.

Sit in a closet--my foot! And little to no wall space except in hallway, where three quilts hang. The rest are folded (the get refolded about every three months or when someone wants to see them) and on the end of the bed in one of my spare bedrooms. Right now I have some terry cloth towels on top of them because that's where Mehitabel and Maude, my rescue cats, like to sleep. All the beds in the house are covered with quilts as bedspreads. froggyintexas

I prefer to use my quilts, I do have one on display but it wound up on the bed since we were cold. I have a quilt my grandmother made and I used it till it wore out. I do have a piece that I plan to make a teddy bear out of to pass on to my grand children that there great great grandma made and my grand father tied.

I'm a 'user'! Stuffing it in the closet means you have no memories associated with it, except the making of it. Using a quilt is memories of love, smiles, contentment, happiness, comfort when sad, and so on.
