I tried but don't like it. Found it annoying.

A friend of mine got me a thing that goes around my neck that says "to quilt is human to finish divine" on it. I am SUPER accident prone and thought it wouldn't work for me.

I never stitch anything without it on. I'm allergic to most metals and cannot wear a necklace of any other kind. The only trick was finding some small scissors that would fit in the clasp AND they couldn't open while I was bent over something. I love them and never sew without it.

Sounds like you are armed for battle!! A place for everything and everything in its place! :)

I saw the retractable type once. The lady wore it as a brooch. I've seen the retractable things in the dollar store, with pens attached. So maybe you could convert one?
Be careful! The first (and probably the last) time I wore the retractable scissor broach when I let it go that sucker popped up so fast and it hit me so hard I thought "how in the world doe Martha Pullen wear these?" We were both amply endowed with lots of cushion but that sucker hurt!

I don't wear a large pair of scissors around my neck, but 2 years ago my sister gave me a pair of Gingher snips. They are fantastic.
They fit into a little plastic holder and I wear that on a ribbon around my neck when I am machine sewing, quilting or hand quilting. They are great!

I use one in the car, but I do not attach it to myself because I always get poked. It is attached to the handle of my tote bag. That way I don't lose it.

Tried to and after I stabbed myself decided I'd rather look for them than bleed!

fiscars makes children's safety scissors with the rounded ends that I use all the time as my quilting carry along scissors - they are sharp enough to cut thread and material and less than $2 per pair!

I always wear a small scissors on a lanyard around my neck for snipping threads. I've not had a problem with it.

If I could figure out how to do it, I'd wear a seam ripper as well!
Don't forget that plastic surgery seam ripper implant :)
