I have seen some IMHO very UGLY quilts on here. BUT I was taught if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all.So I usually don't say anything.

As for myself I usually know where I goofed.So I would have to say no I would not want to know unless I asked.

I took a newly completed quilt top to my LQS today for a show & tell and the owner nicely pointed out that 3 of my blocks were turned sideways (I had already mentioned that I'd had to rip one out and turn it -- it was easy to mis-turn a block in the design). Although I groaned (nobody is happy about frogging) I was very glad to have been told, since it hadn't been quilted yet. So I came home and spent a couple of hours ripping and resewing. But I'm happier.

So yes, if it's not yet quilted I would want to know.

I would not like to know, perhaps who ever posted the picture already knew and did not want to fix it after it was all done. If she did not notice, I feel that if it might hurt someones feelings.

I found it! Lower left hand corner. It isn't a bad mistake. Being a former Proofreader, I'm a Professional Fault Finder! Thanks for providing this example for us to ponder.

I think it depends on if you really know the person none of us are prefect. I'm pretty hard on myself and not sure I would like someone telling me my work was wrong unless I asked. I would hope they would tell me in a nice way. I haven't posted any pictures yet still learning how to do that on the computer.

I would NOT want to know, because chances are, it would be too late to fix it. And then I would sit there the whole time thinking about how I had made the mistake, and be upset about it.

If the quilting has been done, then it's too late to do anything about it, so what's the point of knowing? I guess I'd treat it as a design decision. LOL

Exactly...well said. Maybe we should be posting our WIP as someone had suggested a couple of weeks ago, that way, if there was an error, it could be caught before the top was quilted.
