I sure hope not, it's on the ground floor, but there is a basement underneath! Better watch out.

If your concrete slab caves in due to a large fabric stash, well, I don't think that concrete had all of the proper strength-sustaining ingredients. :mrgreen: And, with my stash, I have about 9 64-qt containers that easily weigh about 70 lbs. So, ideally about 630+ lbs of fabric sitting on "15-year seasoned" floor joists. It's not impossible, especially adding the furniture already in the room. Oh yes, sorry ladies and gents, I tend to get a bit carried away- the mind tends to go into the engineering side a bit too much. Very close friends and my mum are always reminding me to 'come back.' :XD:

My closet shelves caved..!! :lol: Whoops!!!
Now I have them spread out on 6ft bookcases on three walls in my sewing room instead of all the walk in closet in tubs.. well there's still about 10-12 tubs of holiday and novelty fabrics in there but my everyday stuff is out...AND Im on the second floor .. Yikes!!!

I have mine in the basement maybe that is why it is cracking the floor. The house is over 60 years old I blame it on the age of the house.

My sewing room used to be our sons bedroom. We have a 2 story house. He had a king size waterbed and it didn't end up in the living room, I don't think my stash or machines will end up there either. If that is the case my fridge should be in the basement so it doesn't go through the floor. That is kind of hard to believe....

Nearly every place I went, I found some very interesting and unique fabric and fabric panels finds. So, over time, especially about over a year, it accumulated into something that big. Don't ask how much of it I got if I really liked it, and planned it with a couple of quilts. The good news is that I am getting a good dent into those containers. The bad news is trying not to buy anymore fabric, unless a particular fabric is specifically requested by a person or customer. Either way, it is a LOT of fabric. I will NEVER do that again, seriously. One quilt at a time. And no, not a fabric hoarder, just a quilting fanatic. I quilt every day, with a fast turnaround for my quilts, even with engineering school.
