    Yes, I learned it 50+ years ago as an invisible blind hem stitch. Invisible is good!

    I just saw what your mother taught you. I used to do that all the time but I have improved my stitches to a quicker method similar to the ladder stitch method. I even finish off the thread the same way, great minds think alike.
    I use that stitch when ever I need to repair seams,dolls cloth bodies or any toy for that matter. I repaired a quilt some one had done and that the stitches had come out. My stitches were so small people thought it was done my machine not hand.

    Not to be critical, but I don't think these stitches are invisible.
