Default X Blocks - Any Tips?

My friend gave me this set of X Block templates and patterns. Any one else use these and have tips?

    Thanks for sharing.

I have made "X" blocks before but doesn't look like what is in those patterns. I just snowball two sides on four squares and sew them together.

I have the book and a pattern and two different size rulers. I made a quilt out of the book and it just needs the borders. Very easy to make but you need a very accurate 1/4" for when you so strip sets to be cut. I hope this helps.

I have the ruler but haven't used it yet. As with any re-cut blocks, starch well as sometimes the edges are not on the straight of grain for sewing them together. Keep us posted and maybe it will motivate me to break mine out of the package.

I LOVE making the X-blocks quilts! It's a lot of fun, but you can't be a perfectionist with them. When it says to press the seams open, it really is the best way to go. The lighter colored one I made for my husband. The darker colored one I made for my boss, who's a rancher. If you look carefully, you'll see cows, barbed wire, brands, etc. The secret with X-blocks quilts is where you put the light, medium and dark prints.

    Have fun with it!

Love the quilts. I also have the ruler, but have not made one.
