This is the second Yellow Brick Road that I have completed, this I just received back from my LA, just needs the binding and a label. I found the instructions somewhat confusing, but I was thinking it was more difficult than it actually was, and as long as you have the correct size of each block you will be ok.

This is a huge king size showing in pic 10 blocks down and 11 blocks across

The pattern is from "Atkinson Designs" one of life's simple pleasures and it is called "Yellow Brick Road" on their website look for pattern number ATK#126, and see their website at the following http://atkinsondesigns.com

Your local quilt shop should also be able to order the pattern for you if they don't have one in stock.

    Best of Luck

Now you all have me worried. I have 12 fatquarters picked out and bought to make my first YBR quilt. Maybe I better use it for a project at our "Sew Day with Quilters" so I have lots of help.

I've made the yellow brick road three times and three times have made mistakes piecing it together. Good luck

Dina I love your mix of blue and purples - fabulous colors together. Stunningly beautiful quilt. Great Job.

Can you do your placement just from the picture?

I just looked at a picture of a quilt. Looks quite simple.

Sew the two small squares together.
Sew the smaller rectangle along the double square edge.
Sew the 2nd smaller rectangle along the first rectangles edge.
(or you can sew the two smaller rectangles together first then sew to the double square strip)

Lay this piece on the table face up with the double square strip on top. Place the larger rectangle vertically along the right side of the first patch.

When you've completed a few, start laying them out side by side and always turn the next block a quarter turn.

This is according to the "Yellow Brick Road" picture I saw.

If there is supposed to be a "yellow brick" pattern come out, I've not recognized it. Sorry.
