I am "hippy spawn" -both of my parents are tie-dyed hippies; here's what come to my mind (that hasn't already been mentioned):

    "Om" symbol (https://www.google.com/search?q=om+s...w=1237&bih=802)

    Lotus flowers

    Mandalas of all kinds

Perfect idea! It's so obvious I forgot it.

Excellent inspiration! They would look very pretty too! Think of all the possibilities in fabric.

You guys are awesome! These are such excellent ideas it's hard to know where to start. Today I'm going to work on a couple of peace signs (the typical one and the two finger hand). After that, I'm going to have to reread all the comments. There are excellent ideas all throughout. I'll keep posting pictures as they turn out. Thank you everyone! Keep those ideas coming. I might have to make a second quilt for the next child in line.

Here are the two designs I made and fleshed out yesterday for this quilt.

I'm thinking of making a checkerboard pattern alternating between background fabrics in black and white.

I'll keep you posted on the next ones as they get done.

Today I'm going to make a tribal tree of life. I'll post a picture of it as soon as it's complete.

I finally completed the tribal tree of life block. I chose the tribal version because my daughter likes tattoo artwork. This particular one also stands out to me because I can see the green man in it too.

Now I got most of the blocks done. Just a few more to go before I can assemble the quilt top.

How do you think this turned out? Any additional ideas?
