Are you a fast or slow sewer?

Oh, sometimes I leave for food and drink. LOL
So you can tell don't get a lot of sewing done, but think about it all the time.

I am woman, so of course I can multitask!!! I can sew and watch TV at the same time (well, stealing glances and keeping both ears open counts, right?) I am a fast sewer...but my DH cannot multitask at all, so if he's in the room with me, we have to turn on the music, or he gets so distracted by the TV he cannot sew. He just sits and watches TV!! Men!! :-)

I have a nice sewing room but for some reason I feel isolated when in there. I think it is because I can't see out. In the living room is where I can see out to the street, so I think I would be more productive. I have a Featherweight to arrive sometime this week & she will be setup in the living room. I'll see if I am any faster in here. Plus I will have natural lighting. That helps my mood. In the sewing room I have a flat screen TV right above my Bernina & I can take my laptop in there, but I keep my shades shut to keep the light out to protect my fabric. I don't focus well in there & am slow as molasses. I do all of my handwork in the living room.

I never break any speed records that's for sure. It's funny (odd) when I am in the kitchen cooking, stay out of my way as I buzz around. But when it comes to sewing I am much slower. Maybe I need to do less cooking and more sewing

no tv or computer allowed in my sewing room, my sewing room is for sewing; if i had my computer in there i would never get anything done. some times i get wrapped up in looking for some special piece of fabric and i'll (waste) an hour just pawing through my fabrics...but when i'm organized and go in to sew i can get alot done. i try to save sorting/searching for in the evening when we are out watching tv, then i'll take a tote to the livingroom and sort everything in piles all around my chair...my dh gets a kick out of me doing this:) so does the cat...
i take books, magazines, and graft paper to work with me to look through and use...so sewing room time is productive time...there are certainly times though when i spend 2-3 hours in there and don't get anything done.
i try to get something done to show for my time...even if it's just a block cut out. i spend between 1 and 6 hours a day in my sewing room. although i would never get anything done if a tv was in there i do have a stereo i could not sew without :)

I would consider myself a slow quilter. Right now I am working on a puff quilt. I have all my blocks done and am hand sewing each one together.
I am about 5 rows from finishing the quilt, then stuff . Put the backing on and tie it.
I am hoping to have it done by the end of August when we are traveling.
This quilt is for my daughter and SIL

It actually depends on whether or not I have a deadline. When I was making one for Jim for Christmas last year, I was so worried that I would not have time to get it quilted. It was finished on September 1st.
