Beautiful sunny day here in Oz. Hubby and I spent it being tourists cruising around the countryside.
Tasted goat and sheep cheese at one place, had tastings at a gourmet brewery at another and sampled hand made chocolates at another.

....... I will get stuck into some sewing tomorrow.

I'm taking a basic beginner quilting class. I've done one project on my own, but I've had no idea what I'm doing LOL. Hoping I'll learn some good habits and tips and tricks by just starting with the basics.

Part of my company has left - have "Planned overs" in the frig - laundry caught up - think ny DH is going fishing - after my coffee I'm off to sew - thought about it most of the night off and on. Putting the borders on my 1930's quilt - then need to piece the backing and figure out how I'm going to quilt it............am so excited...........

I won't get to sew today, but I am going to a quilt auction with my SIL'S. Don't plan on buying anything, just curious I guess. Actuall the school I graduated from back in 1961 puts this on evey year as a fund raiser. I have always wanted to go but never got it done. So today is the day. I sewed alot yesterday. Made 2 log cabin table toppers from scraps. Turned out cute. Will post when finished. I do plan on sewing on Sunday tho.

I took a basics class too..cutting with a rotary cutter, Pressing, instead of ironing and the difference, measuring, squaring up blocks. I am sooo glad i did too!

I only wish i had learned to measure and cut fabric like Alex anderson, buy using the ruler and not the cutting board. (that way you can flip the board over when the lines wear out) habits are really hard to break!

My husband and DD are heading out of town for the day and overnight leaving me with just my 2 year old. He and I are going to a quilters garage sale and then when he naps and goes to bed tonight I plan to sew like a fiend! I have to finish my fall blocks so they can go out this week and then get started on my christmas projects.

You bet! I'm making placemats for MIL for Christmas. I pieced two of the tops already this morning. I'm home alone, first time in awhile. Nice to listen to my music and be without a schedule. This afternoon I may go to a quilt store on the way to the grand-daughter's house. She is 4 mos. old and I get to babysit for the evening. Grandpa got to babysit Thurs. so now it's my turn!!!
By the way, the sun is shining here but it is chilly. Fall is definitely in the air. The trees are gorgeous all decked out in golds, rusts and reds. We went to the park the other night and just hiked and admired all God's painting of the trees. I think this is one of my favorite times of the year.

Maybe the grands will want to sew?

I've already been out in the rain- it's warm 60 deg.- to a viewing for an elderly neighbor that passed away. Took my Dad since he doesn't drive.

Let's see- 1 load of wash left, so I will do that. Already finished the binding on 1 table runner, started the next. Will finish that later.

Now- load up car with bags of "stuff" for Salvation Army. Then to Baby Age Outlet store for a list of items they have to send to DD in NC (will shop for baby shower gift for 11/21 shower while I am there). Then to Tunkhannock to visit craft show and to quilt shop for some complimentary fabric for some fall fabric I have. Didn't like the way the stuff I cut out looked together so I put them in a plastic bag to see if I can "fix" it.

Oh- need to stop at the office before I go to Outlet and Salvation Army to pick up 2 sewing machines to drop off for servicing.

Somewhere in the mix- can't forget my bff to go to the craft show and quilt shop. She said she will come sew with me tomorrow and I want her to be "energized".

I expect to be home about 4 and then to DD's for pumpkin carving time at 6. Home about 9 and turn into a crabby person and slink off to bed about 9:30. I'm exhausted thinking about the day. :)

Tomorrow is sewing day (after church in the morning). Can't wait for sewing day!
