That is a terrific idea and I must try it. I layer the top of my table with cutting boards and the blue tape works good for smaller items that will fit on the top have to get my act together and see about those clips. Elastic is easy enough to find. I was wondering how many of these things you use on the quilt so I can get enough supplies.

Elastic is easy enough to find. I was wondering how many of these things you use on the large quilts so I can get enough supplies. I see you only use 2 for the width and 2 for the length is that enough?

Is it possible for you to post a picture of clips and elastic. Just can not wrap my mind around this. My ironing board has two metal stretchers that has a coil in center with metal hooks attaching to the ironing board cover.

I'm pretty sure these are clips the original poster is talking about.... she can correct me if I'm wrong! This is such a wonderful idea.

Fantastic idea, I have tried to baste on my dining room table but don't want tape on my wood top so I leave the pads on but they slip around and the tape won't stick to them. Will definitely have to try this. Thanks for the great idea.

Watch Sharon Schambers video on utube, titled "basting your quilt". She shows a quick and easy method of sandwiching your quilt that does not require a big area or taping and best of all no wrinkles. Her basting method is good but I also think you could spray baste if you want.
