One day hubby got into one of his inquizitive moods, and his interest turned to "the stash". "How much do you have up there?" he asked as he nodded toward the second story. "Hmm?" I asked. "Upstairs in all those boxes, closets, and rooms...A hundred dollars worth? Two?..." I kept my eyes steady, but didn't think I could do it much longer. "More? Five hundred dollars worth?" He sounded a little overwhelmed, even though he knew I'd spend three hundred at a shop while on vacation. "Could you have more than five hundred dollars worth upstairs?" I couldn't lie, he'd know in a second. I dropped my eyes humbly, and murmurred "yes..." "Oh," he said, "you do have a lot of fabric" and changed the subject before I could! (Bless his heart!)
