When you count the hours until your spouse leaves for work because you will then have the rest of the day/night to quilt.

When a problem with a pattern is the last thing on your mind before you go to sleep and you wake up with the solution.

My Mother sent me an emergency text message at work because she found me a new quilt shop! She embroiders but doesn't quilt - yet! WIP

Tell DH to keep his hands in his pockets or you will leave the store with double the amount of fabric you went in for - so who is really addicted to quilting in this relationship? 'He doesn't sew' and that's his story.

....when your Vacation photos are of images that can be translated into quilt patterns. I discovered this after getting off the tram at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Love the tile.

My contribution to this thread: Getting off the plane doing a once in a life time trip, seeing a work of art displayed at the airport and thinking "That would be perfect as a quilt and I could go home right now and this trip would have been worth it!!"

LoL these are all too funny!

Mine happened just this morning... When we bought a new mattress and DH offered to cut up the old one because he thought I could use the stuffing for batting because I once used a mattress pad for batting when making FMQ practice sandwiches.

And when on vacation this summer I just had to spend the night in "this town" because the quilt shop was closed when we got there and I just had to get in there to "pet the fabric."

Doesn't everybody? I take a mini sewing room....projects, all kinds of threads, cutting boards and rotary cutters, my own iron...even took a wooden sewing machine cabinet with legs that hook on and off (but it's heavy)!
