OMG - my DH and I were just talking about this very thing. I was saying that our toilet was so quiet that you could not hear it our bedroom - to which he informed me that it was because I had so much fabric in between the toilet and our bedroom (spare bedroom) is why! So, fabric is a great sound insulator too - LOL>

[quote=sueisallaboutquilts]When you have a project all prepared to work on for a long drive even though you have no plans to go anywhere yet :D

I need to go on a long, long drive. Or visit my MIL. I have two quilts that need the binding stitched down. Love the responses to this.............

you carry an asortment of wound bobbins and a spool of thread in the glove box to try out any sewing machines you find at rummages & thrift stores

    What a good idea.

when going on a road trip and packing a project for the drive is much more important then packing your clothes.

When you look at Don Sherry's suits thinking you would love to get in his closet and take a swap of each one of his suits to make a colorful scrappy quilt.....

Sorry, but who is Don Sherry? If his suits inspire quilts, must see his suits.

You have to evacuate for a hurricane and the first things you pack are your sewing machines and bins of fabric.
