Ya know you're a quilter when you sit down to your sewing machine on a Tuesday at 7pm and before you know it, your neighbor is banging on the wall because it's 11:30pm and he wants to sleep...

when the only vacation you want to take is to go to quilt shows, quilt stores, fabric shops, find quilts in all that you see, etc.

*while sitting in meetings you look at the upholstery and think that could be a cool quilt

    * you see wallpaper in bathrooms and think that would be a good quilt design, and start doodling to see if you could do it on the longarm

    * you decorate pies with whipcream to look like a quilt (guilty)

You know you are a quilter when you see potential designs everywhere and I mean everywhere such as tile designs on floors.

when going on vacation, you quickly look up all quilt shops along the way before leaving
when you are looking for tons of different reds (because they cannot be the orangey red) and the LQS and Joannes have all the same, you immediately go to thrift stores and yard sales and start looking through the cotton clothes.
you can make a quilt a whole lot faster in your mind than in real life

...When you read on this site that someone sewed through her finger, your first thought is,"That's awful! Another broken needle!"

...You prepare to paint your chicken house by looking at quilt block patterns. (Why not paint a barn quilt?)

...When your automatic response to every summons from your family (whether you're in front of your machine or not) is, "Just let me finish this one seam."

...When you observe that the quilting in the toilet paper could have been done better.

When you wake up in the middle of the night and wonder if you can sneak out to the quilting room....

When you would pass up a week at a Mexican resort rather then miss your fall quilt retreat... lucky for me the dates got changed for the Mexico trip so I can do both.... but what am I going to sew in Mexico on the beach?

    You know you're a quilter

when your husband turns the car around cause you spotted a quilt shop on a side road.

when you meet another quilter for the first time and chat for an hour before either of you realize it.

when you seriously consider stealing your best friend's shirt because it's just the right color.
