My husband started selling stuff on ebay several years ago, when he first started he had this guy that refused to pay so of course we never shipped well he left us negative feedback because he never got his stuff. lol Hello!!!! But it looked REALLY bad as a number because my husband had not sold much and didn't have thousands of positive feedback to couter it!
Don't always just look at the number, you have to take into concideration how many items have been sold and you have to READ the actual feedback. Back in the day when buyers and sellers both gave feedback if you gave a seller neg. feedback they would give it right back to you and you better believe they would not leave you feedback until you had left it for them!

The very low starting bid is designed to start a bidding frenzy. At a real live auction this is how people get caught up in the bidding process and find that they have over bid their own budget.
Advice on auctions: Decide what you are willing to pay and DO NOT go over that price.
Exactly. And if it's been dropped a few times with bent parts and beat up maybe it's not worth that much anyway.
