As a new grandma, I am supposed to be making a "transportation" quilt for dgs. I have a wonderful pattern but it is all applique and I am not "into" machine applique. I just can't get into this project. Are there pieced quilt patterns of vehicles that you know of? Just hoping for a fresh start on this.
    Thanks
    Rita

There is a series of fabric panels called Hard Hats which is adorable. Very easy to make and wonderful for a young boy. Try ebay and type in "hard hat fabric".

I think I forgot to mention that this will be for a double sized bed. Grandson is just 2 but a new lil sister has forced him to move to a big bed. And as long as you are getting a bed why not get the double and it will be good till college. Anyway Gma has to make a double bed quilt. But I like the ideas but they gotta be way bigger.

There are some nice pp ones, but I don't know where yoyu can find them. You could also do a brodery purse method and find material you like and hand applique it on to the blocks. I did this with a hot air balloon quilt. It turned out really nice.
