    Default Your Favorite Traditional Block

I love all kinds of quilts, traditional and modern, pieced and appliqued, and I know others do as well. I wonder what is your favorite block from whence quilting came. I mean the older ones, from way back before the sewing machine was even invented.

I like Bear Paw. It's fairly simple. It looks like its name. And it can be done in different layouts.

Of the truly traditional blocks which one do you like best? Pictures are very welcome!

I made one block as part of a sampler some years ago.

That's an easy one for me. Churn Dash. A simple block with so many different looks.

This is my quilt from the Churn Dash Swap here on the QB. It is almost finished. I just have to finish sewing the binding on. I don't have a photo yet of the quilting.

And, here is another. I am still working on all the hand embroidery's in the center.

And, there may be one or two more of these in my future. I just love this block.

I like the colors in your sampler. I have never found the Bear Paw Block easy to put together. I struggled with seams. But, I like the block.

Log cabin without a doubt. So many different arrangements, as well as so many variations of the block itself. My avatar is a log cabin.

Goodness, that's a really hard question! I really like the Ohio Star and the Dresden Plate.

    Lovely quilts shown....

Dunstar...your avatar is amazing. Cannot believe that is a log cabin block.

I like stars....all stars.....but favorite is LeMoyne star. I made this small lap with scraps to practice curved borders and FMQ.. Those are 4" star blocks in the corner...

My favorite is Carpenter's Wheel, and I'm flabbergasted to realize I've never made one. Might have to remedy that soon!
