I have used Warm & Natural for years and have had no problem with it, but after reading some of the replies in this post I might try the Hobbs 80/20 as others have mentioned there is a little more substance to it than the warm & natural. Thank you for doing this post, it is interesting and very informative, I will be watching very closely for more opinions. I feel getting opinions on products from consumers who use the product is the best as the product has been used in every day usage and not just in a test by the manufacturer or someone who does not really use it. Thank you again for posting this question.

I love all things Quilter's Dream. They have a batting for almost any purpose a quilter would want. I like that I can count on the quality.
On which type I choose, I would have to say it depends on who or what it is going to be for. My first bed sized quilt, for me, has a Warm and Natural cotton batting. The quilt I am working on now for me has a Quilter's Dream wool batting. I want to have a softer, lighter, higher loft now. I liked how the cotton batt needled but the quilt is so heavy and cotton batting tends to be a little "dampy" in our mountain climate. Wool breathes great so it is good for summer and winter.
Most of the time I like the new microfiber bats, they can be machine washed and don't require a lot of quilting.

To tell the truth I walk i walk into a store to buy batting , and find very little help in finding a nice batting ..I am a self taught quilter and I ALWAYS thought the quilt shops were there for expert help....Little did I know they are not very helpful any more then the search engines on finding all i can about batting .......So I go in an say im making a baby quilt and they say this is what i use , Or Get this but shrink it first ,Just put in the washer on delicate and dry.... Ever had to pick out batting that has fallen apart in the washer .........Long story short .I now read the pattern and us what is suggested.... Not sure what i like Yet . I do like warm and cozy quilts for winter and soft and cozy light ones for summer .

I live in the South Plains of Texas...I have a bolt of Warm & White, that I have had since 2006...the only person I've found who likes to use it around here is.... ME.
I don't use it for a lot of quilts though...too stiff for close quilting. I like the way the quilts look when washed, and doubled, makes a great table topper...nice & thick.

I use mostly Fairchilds packaged batting made of 100% polyester. I like how it mimics a cotton batting, but drapes nicely when quilted.

I also use a lot of Mountain Mist 6 oz roll batting that I get at Joann Fabrics when on sale. Very nice to work with on my TL18LS.

I have some Hobbs Tuscany wool batting...love, love it.. but the cost is way above what any of my customers will pay. I bought it for my own use, and to use on quilts for show (if I ever do one)...and it sits and is not being used. Too expensive for everyday quilts.

I think the polyester batting being made now, really do mimic cottons...and those are what I get the most.

I too saw the 100% cotton Pellon batting at Joann's on sale and decided to give it a try - as you say it pilled all over my quilt top and I spent alot of time with a sticky tape roller getting it off. I usually use Warm and Natural but am thinking of trying Hobbs 80/20 after reading what others say about it.

This is so sad. Who ever would tell you to pre wash batting has a problem with their belfry bats running loose. Never wash batting before it is in the quilted and quilted. Never wash unfinished quilt tops.

I use Warm & Natural exclusively. I like that it's thin but warm. It quilts up perfectly, looks great after it's washed and has never fallen apart on me - no matter how densely or sparsely quilted it is.

I use Warm and Natural for preference, but at the moment I'm making a baby quilt and using Warm and White which is quilting well.

I use warm and natural or warm and white. I buy it by the bolt.

I like warm and natural cotton, because I live in a warm climate, and most quilts I make need to be of a lighter variety. I do not like the polyester battings at all. The 80/20 blend has worked well for small quilts. I know our local JoAnn's is bringing in the Pellon batting. But as yet I have not tried it. Look forward to seeing any difference.
