Your Report from Quilt Market or Festival from those attending

Did not see this at these particular shows but the newest craze is the micro chip that you can sew right into a quilt and you activate it with your smart phone and it will talk to you. You can give the quilt info, tell a bedtime story, sing a song...
The wave of the future.

I went to Market and Festival as well... Market was absolutely incredible, and I definitely learned alot about where designers and manufacturers will be heading in the next year! I was actually a little dissapointed in Festival. While I definitely tend to be drawn to the more modern fabrics, I felt like there really wasnt very much of even the more traditional prints. Lots of wool, dark colors, and accessory type stuff... ah well, there's always next year :-)

The funniest group of quilts at the Houston show were the Cow quilts. They were so funny. Here is a glimpse of what I'm talking about: http://www.thequiltshow.com/os/blog.php/blog_id/4549 (these are not the exact ones)
