Jim would not have a clue as to the dollar value of my fabric. He knows that anything I have bought in the last year is not cheap as the prices lately are approaching $13 a yard. But, I must say that he has NEVER told me that I cannot buy more. He always says, "as long as the bills are paid and there is food in the house, get whatever you want". What a guy!

What I spend for my personal needs comes out of income I've earned.
I would beg to differ on the insurance replacement value and 'worth'. If you are going to pay that higher preimum for replacement value go for it. But we see time and time again here where someone has picked up an busload of fabric from quilter's estate sales for pennies on the dollar. Once it is in our homes a stash is worth nothing to anyone but ourselves regardless of how much we've spent on it. Like knitters yarn stash. Embroiders thread stash. etc.

My hubby has no idea how much money I have invested in my sewing room. My machine alone has a replacement value of thousands. He however has his hobby which has replacement value of thousands as well so we are even!

I'm curious as to how the rider would work. I know of a lady that has a rider for glassware but she has to list each piece separately with pictures. Since quilters are using their fabrics, adding to their stash, swapping stuff, how would that work?
