I just messed my Viking up royally!!! I was disassembling it for a thorough cleaning/lubing.
1. I dropped the set screw that keeps the bobbin holder on and can't find it even with magnets :(
2. I don't remember how the gear mechanism goes back on :(
I'll have to take it into the shop and have her put together again.... can't afford this type of thing..
I'm sure it's going to be at least $100 to get her cleaned and lubed (might as well while she's apart) and put back together
Fortunately, I have my FW and another heavy duty machine that I can use... The down side is my repair man is 45 miles away and I don't think he does house calls :(... I may call him and see when he'll be coming south to go to the south store if he can stop by my house and fix her or pick her up. He passes right past my house going to the south store.
I'm just so frustrated that I just HAD to tear into her and take her apart. I couldn't just do a basic cleaning. I wanted to oil the moving parts that I can't reach normally. :( NOOOO I have to be a show off and "service" her myself... grrrr... so stupid!

ahhhh....Leota, I'm so sorry :( In my world, a broken sewing machine ranks right up there with a lost cell phone, no shower or toilets and a car that has run out of gas.....
I'm planning on having your center in the mail tomorrow and on it's way to OK Darla. I'm hoping my next ceneter is as much fun to work on as your's was :) Here's to hoping for the best with your run of bad luck with sewing machines!!

Leota.....the mail is going to be so jammed tomorrow with everyone sending in their taxes :( I don't think taking a little extra time is going to be an issue. I have laryngitis right up there with a broken sewing machine and no running water/toilets on my list of urghhhh!!!! Get better soon!
