Sherri your block is great! The top I made was a good way for me to gain color confidence, play with value placement, and trust that in the end, it would turn out all right.

Just so when you swap your blocks, don't worry at all about getting one back with red, one with pink, and one with blue. The use of black and white will tie all of them together.

Got my first set done. Since my bright was so bold and busy I just did simple framing in white and black.

Mariposa - the butterflies are from Hobby Lobby. I've had them for a bit, but in think its still available.

I am wondering if I can use tone on tone blacks and tone on tone whites or should they be solid. I am trying to wrap my mind around this swap because I really want to do it.

Yes, you can use tone on tones. Prints are ok too.....
