I have my 2 1/2" squares sorted in 3 different stages.

Fabric squares that I am trading:
I have a container that has 17 little cubby hole openings in it. When I cut my fabric I put one in each little cubby hole. This way no two fabrics are alike. When I need to mail a package I just take one out of the cubby hole and count it out and mail it away. Cubby hole #1 is always for me...that way I get one of each fabric I send to you ladies.

Fabric squares that I am keeping.
Most of them go into a really big boot box. (I am on #2) When I am working on a project.....

I have a really big tower, there are 16 containers tall (I buy them in 2's but you can attach them as you go.) I have each container marked with a color. As I am going through to pick out what I need I sort the others into these containers. They get sorted by color and some by theme.

Hope this makes sense. I have so far made 3 large size lap size quilts, and many other goodies with them.

Barb, Ditto PM on one Dec birthday name without addy. Er, ugh, my bd is also in Dec so please include my addy.

Thanks for the charm storage & distribution tips, made sense to me. May give it a try in spring swap. Love learning new ways to manage time in the workroom.

    Happy Thanksgiving to all!
    hugs,
    dj

Yeah, Barb's pm had no addresses. I think she was too quick on the trigger! I'm sure she will fix it as soon as she's back on the board.

So will Barb give us a grace if our 1st December baby is late? I have them all ready to go sitting here on my desk just waiting to be mailed. If I don't have the address before I leave today it will not make it into the mail till Monday due to Thanksgiving holiday plans.

Speaking of Thanksgiving, I hope everyone has a wonderful Turkey day. For me it will be spent with friends as we enjoy a traditional turkey dinner with games and spirits afterwards. The rest of my long weekend I plan on getting started on my Chex Mix and Beef Jerkey. Sewing, of course, am going to host a one-day sew-in on Saturday at my house for a couple friends, and I also hope to get some sewing done on Friday. Sunday we are getting together with the Grandkid to celebrate his birthday, which was the 23rd. So have a buys weekend planned.
