2015/16 birthday swap...candy style 2.5"
#1681
Rec'd today from SheriR (thick pkg), RosemaryAttaway (cool balloon & heart envelop stickers, and happylab (very squishie). All so tempting. Thank you ladies!!!! 19 rec'd so far.
Outside - Put out the white lighted reindeer (heads turn) & decorated the entry arch with a musical light string & bells.
Inside - Family fireplace mantle: used elongated glass, peppermint ornaments from a swap years ago into the garland as well as the triple candle string of 10 then put up a small red, white & blue tree in the corner (with corner windows) and sat the two military (male & female) soldiers in full camo next to it. Living room fireplace mantle: garland has white lights, trumpeted angels strings, & eight stockings. Set up large tree last week.
To DO List: Staircase garland with bubble lights & ornaments, setups for Christmas kitchen dishes, little village set, hubby's train (older than us), & scatter various pillows & holiday TY babies. Then I can actually clean up around here! Hope the grand kids enjoy the effort!
Please pray for my chest cold to improve quickly. Thanks!
hugs,
dj

Wow, DJ... wish I was one of your grandkids! Bubble lights are my favorite. And TY babies.... Sounds like your house is the place to be for Christmas! Hope your cold goes away. Boil some greens in chicken broth and eat them a couple of times a day (not the broth). I swear this cures a cold quickly. All those B vitamins really boost your immune system.
My kids brought home a tree from their Black Friday shopping trip, and got out all my decs and put up everything in just a couple of hours! It was so amazing. One minute it wasn't Christmas, and the next, it was! And I barely had to lift a finger. Then they all went home! They will be back for Christmas, tho. Am I spoiled, or what?

Yup, you are spoiled, sewbizgirl, but you deserve it! Mine live so far away I feel blessed that they are able to come home for Christmas & my bd. Thanks for the cold remedy, will try anything to combat this green slime attack.
Daisy, my fav postal job was at an encoding center (EC) when we were in PA. Were not allowed even 1 (one) typo! YIKES!!! It is my understanding that the EC here in OK blew away in a tornado & was not replaced. I found that postal & teaching were the two best jobs while hubby moved us all over the planet advancing his career. I like BA, OK & may retire here, although in the springtime I miss those Texas bluebonnets, but SheriR keeps me cheerful when they bloom.
hugs,
dj
