You're too funny dj, don't know if my head is straight, actually probably a little crooked, but it works for me I'd go crazy if I couldn't sew.....it's my "hobby" now

    Happy 4th of July everyone!!!!!

I mailed out all of my birthday candy packages 1 July. Expect them this next week.

    Zozee, to your saying.

Impatiently waiting for our next QAL. Do we have an exact date yet? patiently, patiently, impatiently waiting, ops. LOL. Seriously, are we picking out that many 2 1/2" block squares in Christmas fabric? Do we want them to be light, med, or dark squares? Time to go back to previous other projects.

Barb is super busy right now, taking on an additional baby to 'nanny'... so the QALs might have to wait a while.

I've been scrolling through the "Scrappy Quilt Show" thread (over 300 pages and growing), and here's one I saw posted in 2012 by luvTooQuilt using candy squares.

If I see any more using candy, I'll share them here.

ETA: Actually, I think these are 2" squares, but this would certainly work with 2.5".

That's a beautiful scrappy quilt sewbizgirl.

I did a tutorial on a scrappy quilt using 2.5" squares here: http://www.quiltingboard.com/tutoria...k-t275789.html

I put that quilt in my local unjuried show in June, and it received alot of positive attention.

Showbizgirl, lovely quilt. I will put that on my to bucket list.

Jennrbr, I'm using your tute with the log cabin block. I started it today. I decided to make a king size quilt, so will be making 64 blocks. I have my squares all picked out and in piles for easy sewing. Thank-you for posting the tutor. It is very easy to follow. I really enjoy log cabin blocks and this is an interesting way to make the block. I'm very excited about the project. I'll post picks along the way.

I have my 90 blocks sewn together on the AK Crossroads. I have decided on how to finish the borders. It will take me a few more weeks. I have to go into my stash/scraps to find more border fabric. Then I can get that top finished and off to be quilted. This is another top I really enjoying the process.
