    Hello everyone
Hope you are staying cool...here in Michigan it is 93 and they say it feels like 100! Yikes....sounds like one big hot flash to me!!!

Spent today with my mom took her to see her surgeon so he could check out his handy work. My mom is 88 and so brave. Took all 10 staples out and she did not make a noise! She starts her therapy next week. The pain medicine makes her sick to her stomach so she is opting out for now. I feel so bad for her.

Here is a picture of my mom at rehab... and visitors: lf-rt my daughter Kelly and baby Adalynn, Claire, mom Sarah and my sister Maryann. Claire and Sarah belong to my sister. Cooper was there but wasn't feeling very photogenic.

Check out my mom's top...right shoulder..I cut the top and added velcro for closures. Can't find any clothes for her to wear.

Thanks Jaba for reminding me of the QAL...

    step 2

now it is time to quilt the top piece that you have sewn together. I just did a quick "stitch in the ditch". But I am sure you crafty ladies will figure something else out.

I only used the batting I did not add an extra piece for backing.

I just laid the stocking on top of the batting and cut out with a rotary cutter the size I needed. I left just little around the edge.

Next week we will be working on the cuff.....

Stocking's looking great, Barb. Now that my RxR is done I can start one.

Your mom looks great too... and happy with your family. What pretty ladies! Older people do not feel pain as acutely as younger folks and your mom might just be fine without the pain meds. Esp. if it makes her sick. Sometimes just Ibuprophen is enough. She certainly looks like a trooper to me!

Got candy in the mail from

JENNR8R. Thank you!! Can I wait? Do I possess enough self-control? Will the suspense kill me? I''ll be 51 years old and yet I am such a KID about my birthday!!

I'm with zozee , my birthday is the day after hers, and I got a card already! I opened mine though...Each month when I package my candies I always wonder which ones will be liked best by the birthday girl, so I thought it would be fun to to a picture of my favorite square from each card. This here is my favorite from JENNR8R, thanks!

Lee, I've always wondered the same thing about what I send out. I think I'll steal your idea.

Another thing I'm curious about--how do you all organize your candies? By color? Darks and lights? Warms and cools?
Some other way , or no way?
