So I am wondering...is anyone doing the stocking QAL???

I am having problems with the cuff ...the person who embroidered the names on the fabric for me put it in the wrong place....so I need to have them re-sewn....she's not going to like that!.

Anyway you can do a few other steps until my cuffs are ready.

    Step #3....Cut the lining out.

I made my templet from a stocking that I already had and like the size. I just laid it on a piece of flannel and traced around it. I like to use flannel for my patterns I make because it does not move around on the fabric when I am cutting it out.

Cut 2 lining pieces for your stocking.

    QAL...Step #4
Use the same stocking templet and cut out the top of your stocking from the quilt top you made in step 2.

ok and one more step for now....

    QAL step 5
cut out the stocking templet from your backing fabric. I used a pre-quilted fabric. Cut only 1.

Your stocking is looking good, Barb. I'm not doing it right now, but I'm taking notes and page numbers for later. It will be great to have a few of these for Christmas. I'm overwhelmed with other stuff right now but love your idea and will try it closer to Christmas. Thanks for the QAL!

I am overwhelmed myself right now Bonnie...and feel so bad that I am taking so long to get this QAL finished.

Don't feel bad, Barb. Just take your time, it's ok. We all have lots of other things going on. It will be great to have the stocking tute there for when we need it, but don't get yourself in a twist trying to hurry.

It's funny because when I took some cuffs in to a shop that does monogramming (some I was making for my daughter and dsil) they also put the writing in the wrong place! On the second go-round I taped a paper to it with an exact box cutout where the writing should go. Idiot proof.

I already mailed the September birthday candies before seeing the post about the address. I hope it gets there. If it doesn't arrive in a week, I'll send out another one to the correct address.

I have both my Sept. cards ready to go out... will mail Trishb's tomorrow and will hold on to WMUTeach's a bit longer, to see if there is an address correction coming.

Here is the address for WMUTeach:

    WMUTeach

    4076 W. Centre Avenue #110

Hope this was caught in time before everyone did there mailing. Oldcatlady...hang on before mailing out a second package. There is plenty of time for her to get it. I am sorry for this confusion but WMUTeach never gave me an apartment #.

    Barb

I took off the rest of her address because it is correct and figured I don't want it all on there.
