As you might imagine, I have a box of polka dotted fabric. I'll cut up a selection to add to my candy, and make this project a bit more personal Cheers! Dotty

Since this is my 1st birthday swap I don't have a stash of candies so I won't be doing the QALs this year. I'm going to earmark them though. I love this one and will probably do it in colored blocks. I'm usually not a fan of sunflowers but I'm loving your block jaba. I always love everything you make.

I am following along with you but will wait until later to actually make the blocks. In the mean time, I am excited to see what everyone does and wish you all joy with your sewing.

Here's something else I'm doing with my candy... a 9 Patch and Snowball quilt. This is the 3rd or 4th candy quilt I have made lately and I'm not even beginning to make a dent in my stash! I need to use up a lot more with my birthday looming only a month away! I've noticed I have a ton of neutrals, so I should probably find a good project for neutral candy. Will think on it.

Anyone see their candy in my quilt?

Are some of these candies from a swap 2 years ago that was not birthdat, just a 50-candy swap? If so, the sunflower print ( catty corner to the green beans) looks very familiar.

oldcatlady, you are so sweet. Yellow is my least fav color, don't even remember why I have this. Think it might be from a Secret Pal swap but not sure. I had 2 different ones, one with the blue and the other black. The light blue is much lighter than it shows and I think for the points I will use black to bring it all together. That's my plan anyway but it could change
Excited to see what everyone else comes up with, pics ladies pics

Thank-you sewbiz for another project to add to my bucket list. I really like the pattern and it looks really easy. Very pretty.

I picked out my 1000 pieces of candy for our QAL. I will start sewing tomorrow. I figure I will try to pick out my background fabric after I make 1/2 of my blocks. I'm leaning towards tan color.

Yes, I've done SheriR's candy swaps too. That's why I have so MANY. The sunflowers may be yours!

happylab, I saw your post on the VQW thread that you have sorted out 1000 candy squares for your Arkansas Crossroads! Wow. Good for you! Can't wait to see your BIG quilt.

Jaba, I like your plan for your sunflower quilt. It's going to be beautiful.

I'm a lurker and I'm doing the QAL with you so I can use up my candies from last year. (I'm going to have to start tomorrow). I'm going to do the random and I'm already enjoying your pictures and reading what everyone has planned. You all have already done a GREAT job just getting started. Good job everyone........see you next week!

Jaba, that is a lovely sunflower block!!!
Sewbisgirl, love your set up for quilting!
Does anyone know this block name?

It wasn't on Quilter's Cache & is not the Arlington block (fussy cut angles) either. They say the first thing to go is nouns, please helps me with this noun!
