Barbara, it is my guild retreat and we go to a Nazarene Church Camp in Vicksburg just south of Kalamazoo. It is only about 15 - 20 minutes from homes of most members but it seems like we are miles a way from home, work and family. Nice large conference center for quilting/sewing and then minimalist clean, fresh hotel like sleeping accommodations. Clean, bright and safe facilities. We will do this all again in early October. PM if you are interested in attending or if you would like to organize your own week-end event for your quilting pals, I can get you the contact info. Cost: $65 for three days/two nights!

Leesewzany...LOVE your quilt. I love the colors and their placements. Good inspiration for me to get mine done!
Hopefully I will be showing a picture of mine soon. I had a few projects I had to finish for deadlines before getting my Arkansas Crossroads finished. I have made in the past few weeks... (something for an upcoming QAL for this thread) had to do it twice

Teaser time......the next QAL is starting in 29 days! Plenty of time to get your Arkansas Crossroads finished. PLEASE post your quilt top on the thread. It is so amazing to see how different they are with the same pattern.
okay in 29 days...one of our beloved quilters (I'm no telling yet) is going to share a wonderful new project. I am sure you will all want to participate. Newbies this would be a good time to start to gather some left over fabric and cut it into those sweet squares we refer to as CANDY. The only hint I will give you is I think I will be using candy that is on the "darker or brighter" side.
let the count down begin![Thumb Up](https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/thumbup.png)
Barb
PS I did not miss a posting of who the next leader is? did I ??? Hopefully she did not tell...yet!

Leesewzany referring to post #699 What an inspiration you are in finishing your Arkansas Crossroads! Did you do your own quilting, it looks great too!
Ahh, a screaming 3 year old is much better IMHO than a screaming 13 year old! LOL Been there and done both! Hang in there Mama, enjoy each and every day including the screaming, some day the silence may become deafening. I think that we who are Grandma's snuggle our Grands extra tight we remember all to well how fast time with our kids really went. (((Hugs)))

Leesewzaney, I really like how your AR Crossroads turned out and the colors you choose. Life is always in the way for me. Work, work commute (1 hour each way), house, and other commitments always get in the way of me and the sewing room. I am hoping to spend most of the day Sunday sewing and working on my AR Crossroads is close to the top of the list.
I have 29 days, can I do it?

Thanks for the kind words regarding my quilt, everyone. Yes, I did my own quilting, I free motion stippled it. I always free motion my quilts somehow. I am slowly working my way through a king size medallion for my bed now. That I will not be able to handle on my DM, so I will have it long armed, eventually...I totally Understand why it is so expensive, but I just wish it wasn't so. I will have to save up to get it quilted.
Also, sewbizgirl, I must wish you an early happy birthday, as I too will be away on Saturday. I am going to the Machine Quilting Expo in New Hampshire this weekend, and I am so darn excited!!!! So Happy happy Birthday to you!!!
