    I'm still active in
Birthday Swap (ends in Feb), participated 4 yrs
Churn Dash Swap (ends in Feb)
Yellow 5" Swap (host posted on thread it was received), probably cannot join the next 5" color swap
Individual Swap with newbie (already sent) to help them get a positive feedback referral.

Wish you could see how many UFOs I need to work on in 2018!
Going to miss this wonderful swap & really wanted to join again to make the blocks from last year into bigger quilt, but too many time constraints. Sorry for the swap crossover.
    hugs,
    dj

Oh goodness, DJ.....you are a busy gal.... No need to apologize. All the swaps are fun so they are hard to resist. Have fun in your swaps and, if you haven't done so already, join the UFO group challenge. Lots of support to help widdle that pile down.

Teen, Thanks for reminding me of the UFO help. I only posted my swap list because one host thought I had resigned & told this swap host. I wanted to make certain both knew what my activities are in 2018 so I posted my list in both swap threads.
    hugs,
    dj

It's no problem DJ. I really hope you accomplish all that you want to. I admire your commitment.

Anna, welcome aboard. You quilt came out so cute last year. I need to focus and complete mine as well. I probably wouldn't have held another swap this year. But, I got quite a few requests for another Summertime Block Swap. So, I caved. Summertime is my favorite. But, like DJ, I have a ton of UFO's to get finished. At the moment, I almost have 4 "oldies" ready to go to the quilter. So, will have to keep working to get my UFO's into finished tops ready to go to the quilters.

I am enjoying seeing all your finished blocks. They are feeding my creativity. Thank you.

Got a question.... with block size. If I make a 6 inch block, do I make 4 sets (16) to make it a 12 inch block when put together?

Additionally, what type of block is preferred? Appliqued? Traditional blocks with summer material? I am trying to get a feel for what I should be making.

Have4boys, I love any style block! Just make what you like! I love appliquing since I started using heat'n'bond fusible web, but I will also be piecing too.

I love to applique, I think I will stick with my original thought... blocks and then applique on them. Thank you!

I like any style and size of block, as well. Each set of 4 blocks (don't forget to make a 5th block to keep for your own quilt) should be the same block and size. I made 3 sets that were 12 1/2 and 2 sets that were 9 1/2". I didn't make any 6 1/2 blocks so I hope others will because I like the diversity of blocks for this quilt. All 3 sizes can be worked into a quilt. The individual quilter may need to add additional varying sized blocks when they receive their swap blocks to square up the quilt but that's part of the fun about adding more personal touches to your quilt. So...just create what you want and we will love them, I'm sure.

No, a 6.5 unfinished block is it's own set. The only exception to that is the DP 9 Block. That requires 4 to make a whole block.

Ex. 6, 6.5 unfinished Churn Blocks counts as a set.
