Teen, I'm thinking of doing at least one 6" block. For the Fall themed swap last year I did only 12" and 9" , so I think it will be fun for me to experiment with the 6" . I'm working on my first set right now, and hopefully will have it done today. It's the watering can block set.

Ladies, here is an example of 2 different quilts done using different size blocks and different blocks done with different techniques.

You can mix any technique block and they look great together.

    I did my ladybug as a 6 1/2" block.

I love your setting for the Fall quilt, Judith. It looks so complicated, but I might try that for the Summer blocks.

Here is how I did my Fall setting. I made a few extra to make it square, but I enjoyed alternating the 9" and 12" blocks, with four 6" making up into a 12" block... if that makes sense? Sorry, I need more coffee this morning before I can talk coherently!

Oh bother! 5 blocks, each perfectly 11.5" , 1" too small !! Rats. Should I put a one inch border around each to make them 12.5" or should I save them for personal use only?

Om my goodness! I love the two fall quilts! I am still working on mine and I love how y'all did your settings. I spy a couple of my creations in there... You are two very talented ladies!

NZquilter, I say give them a border. Your blocks are adorable. And, that little border is never going to show.

Thanks GracefulAnn. I can't wait to add the final border to mine and send it off to the quilter.

Okay, I put a border on them and the simple embroidery stitches on my cheap Brother sewing machine saved the day. Whew! I feel safe to swap these out now. Now on to my sandcastles!
