Teen, jclinganrey was the one that led the swap, I believe. You might ask her if she still has the pattern she posted for the swap. It was a way to make the pattern using HSTs (to make the diamond shapes) and 4" squares. It made an 8" block, you sew it like a 4-patch. It was quick and easy!, and a great pattern for a begining quilter. If you look closely at my picture, you will see how to make the block. And you can see it is quite different from the pattern RedGarnet222 used for her dramatic black/red/white quilt.

Darcyshannon, There is more than one way to make the block. A specialty ruler will probably provide a way to sew the block with fewer seams. I felt like I got the same overall look/effect by using an ordinary straight ruler, and sewing HSTs.

I was in that swap too. This is one of the quilts I made for my great-grandson.

Thanks, Givio, I see it now. Amazing what those HSTs can do. Lobster (ha ha, autocorrect) Libster I bet he loves that quilt. I will definitely start working on one of these. I do like the scrappy look.

I just bought some pea pod fabric for the summer quilt blocks. Couldn’t resist.

mjpEncinitas I think that's wonderful! I hope you will join us as well. I found an old goat pattern that I'm going to adapt!
