Such pretty blocks, Irishmom! I have that same book, so I really know how hard those blocks are! It's lovely.
Here is my fifth set. It's 6.5" . The colors are a bit washed out in the photo for some reason. I'm ready to mail them out, Judith. I sent you a PM.
Thanks everyone for all your talent and creativity! These summer quilts are going to be so fun!

So fun to see all the new blocks posted. I am definitely partial to hummingbirds. Very cute piecing pattern.
I am moved in and I set up my sewing machine today. I have some of the blocks for summer swap cut out and I hope to have one or two blocks posted here by end of the weekend. One idea I have for one of my blocks is a camping tent that is paper-pieced. Camping used to be so fun when I was a kid.

Nzquilter, you are all set. I received your 5 sets, 20 blocks plus 1. Now, your wait begins. I'm sure you'll find something to keep you busy while your wait. (like, packing your house and quarter backing two sweet little girls.)

Okay, I have my three blocks done (!) and just need to decide on my bonus block. All the blocks are 12.5.
The first one is a hummingbird from a book a friend gave me years ago - Go Wild With Quilts. To make a block you trace the template pieces and sew on the template lines. It's a good way to do one -- but really tedious to make five of them! The pattern calls for an eye stitched on, to be honest I couldn't figure out how to do it to my satisfaction. My machine is not an embroidery machine and I was afraid hand doing it would look awkward. I will leave it to your discretion.

My second block was from a site called The Spruce. It's called a Sailboat Log Cabin, but it's then pointed out that it is put together more like a Courthouse Steps pattern.....so Sailboat Courthouse Steps?? I really liked this one as I live near Lake Michigan and grew up on the lake since my dad was huge into sailing.

And last is a Scrappy Flag. I hope you like the yellow border, my husband didn't get why it was yellow. I said so many flags have yellow cording and fringe and my daughter said it represents the "amber fields of grain"! Also, I liked everything being bright, which says summer to me.

I hope you enjoy them -- I'm looking forward to receiving your works and making a fun wall quilt!

So far we have had no update on my hubby's job transfer, but we are still hopeful it will all work out. In the meantime time I'm trying not to jump ahead too much, so I haven't started any packing until I get the go ahead, so to speak. Graceful Ann's farm swap is keeping me busy too.
