What beautiful blocks girls! We are getting off to such a great start. Judith, the center image is really cute in your block. And teen, what nice fabrics you chose too.

I am on the mend today and plan on hitting the sewing room as I do laundry. Thought I'd give myself one more day at home before I go shopping for my baking goods for treat trays and neighbor gifts. I have the fabric for block 2 idea and likely block 3 and 4 but I don't have any novelty fabric for our theme so I may have to break down and buy something for block 5. I want something fresh and fun anyway. I get sick of my fabric stash every once in awhile and have to freshen it up. Lol!! (I'll use whatever excuse I need to go to quilt shop)

Thanks!! I do a lot of quilts for vets so I'm loaded with patriotic fabrics. I'm working on one now in between swap blocks. I have no deadline so it's nice to take my time. The fabric in these blocks I got at the Rainbow Quilt Guild show last month. I washed them up and put them to use immediately..lol..

Teen I think it looks great, maybe like you said to add a string would just add to the creation.

Such a cheerful kite block, Teen! It doesn't look boring to me. Your work is so pretty, I can tell your blocks are going to look great in our summer quilts!

Teen, I love your Kite. And, you can either include the string to put on after it's quilted or you can add it yourself. I just adore the Kite block. My sister, mother and I used to fly them all the time when we were much younger girls. It was so much fun. I grew up in NY and when we moved to Florida when I was 10, we taught all the neighbors how to fly kites. Most of them had never done it before.

Thank you! I'll finish them all and decide on the string after. Good idea, Judith, to just provide an embellishment for the quilter to add when assembled. I am getting rid of some scraps with this block..woohoo!! This block brought tons of memories dor me, too, flying kites with dad and sisters at Fairmont Park. He had his hands full with four little running around...lol... Goodness, he was patient.

Finished 3 blocks and totally screwed up the 4th. Went to trim a dogleg and cut thru the completed block. UGH! Cannot salvage. Good indicator to put the sewing away for the day. Had a pleasant time thinking of you'all, though, as I pictured these in the your quilts.
