Ninepatch blocks can be used as borders, etc. Check out Bonnie Hunters Web page, quiltville.com She has lots of free patterns, some for 9 patches. She also has several books, which may have something that uses 9 patches. You can also surround them with flying geese to make stars.

Barbara, Sorry your Mom has had such a setback. I pray that she will heal quickly.

They have not found a good cocktail of drugs to ease her pain. She cannot get out of bed (or back in) without crying in pain.

The reason for passing out they found was that her heart is only working at 25%. Her heart stopped making her fall and then started back up again by itself. They wanted to put in a pacemaker but she declined.

I have been at the hospital a lot, mostly just sitting with her since they have her knocked out. Also to learn how to care for her when she comes home. They say that she will be sent home on Monday. We have some visiting nurses that will come to the house daily for about 40 minutes. Also PT and OT.

I will be on the thread.....check back here soon.

so sorry about your mom. Getting that pain cocktail adjusted sometimes takes time. She will have a lot of resting to do to allow those fractures to heal. Praying she is a patient patient. And that you can get into a routine quickly after she returns. A routine does much for the mind and the body.

    1) DJmat....a swapper from a few years ago contacted me to see if it is okay if she gives a prize out in December. Sounds good to me. So keep your eyes open for details to come.....

I've been locked away in a Turkish prison for the last 4 weeks. I just escaped in time to mail all of my September candies today. I am particularly sorry that I missed TrishB's birthday earlier this month. Things being what they are, I have no excuse. My life being what it is, I can't be sure it won't happen again. Every effort will be taken to avoid the Turkish authorities in the future.

Today's arrivals, September 9: Kele and aboring. Looks like just four more and there is a week and a few days to go!

Thank you everyone. I am looking forward snipping open those packages soon.
