Well, my friends I spent most of Friday and Saturday at my retreat working on the Start Trails pattern (photo below) but did not finish. I had so much fun though because I used only 2.5's from last year's swap. It was like opening all of the packages again, well, because I did. After opening them last year, 2022, I returned all the squares, cards and surprises back to their envelopes for this project. Then rom each envelope, I chose my favorites, squares that made me smile or ooo and ahh, or that played well together. Each row of the quilt features the squares from one individual swapper. I am thinking I will make a legand for the back with the name of the swapper in order of the rows.

Am not I finished with the top, but all of the 2.5 rows are done, labeled and waiting for me to make the stars. I forgot to bring the fabric for the stars, but I can make them now and start building my 2022 Birthday Swap Quilt. Thank you again for a hexi potholder, a package of 2.5s all from one line, little hearts and embellishments, sparkle fabric, red hearts of different sizes, a poem, a recipe and the most charming square of kitty faces with big whiskers in black and white. I need a yard or two of that one to please my fancy. Tee-Hee-Hee

I hope to get this top done between now and the holidays, just so I can start on one from this year's birthday treats. May be by the 25 of October? Perhaps some progress but not a finish. Thank you all for a trip down memory lane this cold and rainy sewing weekend.

Jennr8r -- looks like my package has been lost in the system again. I wonder what is holding up those candies? Barb, did you get yours from me?

One more package to open belatedly for you Jenn.

WMUTeach -- What a fun memory from last year to create a quilt with. The pattern looks fun. I can't wait to see how you set everything up.

Great job! Yesterday I made up 5 bags of candies. I've already bought my envelopes and two-ounce stamps for next year.

Oh, so glad your package arrived. ibex94 has had such problems with her packages wandering hither and yon before arriving to the birthday swapper. Not her fault! Yeah! It has arrived and your birthday continues.

Barbara, you candies just went in the mail at the PO. That’s only 5 days. Oops. Might be late. Sorry.
