Quossom, what kind of dogs do you show?

My husband and I are very active in the sport of Agility. He’s a little more “next level” than I am; his previous dog was the very first of her breed to earn the Agility Grand Champion title. Meanwhile, I just chug along and have fun!

Presently, he’s showing a Corgi named Ember, and has a young whippersnapper, Fire, in training.

Presently, I’m showing my Standard Poodle, Spice, in the prime of his career, while my older Standard Poodle, Sugarfoot, is our old retired boy who stays home on the weekends and holds down the fort.

We are at Agility shows almost every weekend, but it does make for a pretty grueling schedule, since we both also have full-time jobs, so we’re trying to not show one weekend a month. Sometimes only one weekend off every other month, since he’s chasing national rankings and such!

Here’s my boy, Spice, freshly groomed!

Oh, what a pretty SP! Those are great dogs. Love the black speckles around his feet! Agility training is a lot of work, but pretty rewarding. Isn't it amazing how smart dogs are? Thanks for sharing Spice with us. He's a very handsome boy.

Showing a Corgi! That makes me giggle. Bright dogs with a mind of their own. I have a corgi grand-dog. I can say I don't "love" him, but I have fallen into great affection for Indy. Lots of energy for sure! I bet they are cute as can be running an agility course. All bright eyed and attentive.

How nice to hear about your non-quilting life. Thanks for sharing with us, Quossum.

Indy is so cute! I often wonder what became of the Queen's corgis. Read that she fed them herself.

Oh, yeah, those corgis can certainly be little IMPS of dogs, especially as puppies! Ours, Fire, definitely gives me the love/hate (well, love/annoyance) vibes…it’s a good thing for her that she’s so darn cute!

In my quilting life, I actually finished a pieced back today! It’s for the Merry Mayhem 2023 Mystery, so now all I need to do is prepare the batting, then I can make the sandwich and get started quilting.

I believe that her son Andrew is now taking care of her little buddies. At least that was the initial plan. He lived near by, saw them often and was reportedly her "favorite". I "googled" the question and all responses said Andrew and his ex, Sarah Ferguson.

Woo hoo! My first candy package arrived. Thank you, JENNR8R! I won’t be opening them until my birthday, mighty tempting though it is. 😀

I finally had a spare moment to cut some of my candies for the year. A wonderful labor of love! Beautiful puppies being shown in here. Blue ribbons to all!

    No peeking, Janice!
