Happy Saturday morning to all, Janice our lists are in agreement only one more to go and just a few days of waiting before the party begins.

I am spending some serious time at the machine this weekend trying to wrangle the pile of unfinished projects. My machine with the larger harp/throat was at the spa/repair shop for three weeks so although I used another machine, I did not do any quilting of my donation tops. I have three waiting for my attention. I did manage to make a mess of scraps that will go into crumb blocks and those scraps need to get out of my way to some extent this weekend. But the most fun quilting thing on my To Do list is to create a list of needed fabrics for a quilt for myself and tools that I need, rotary blades replacement templates etc.. A friend and I are going to Shipshewana, Indiana on Monday to to take advantage of some bargains! I have been very conservative with shopping for years in order to pare down my stash. This trip will be a treat in many ways.

What are you all doing this weekend in your sewing spaces?

Back again for a quilt link that makes use of 2.5" squares. You can use charm packs but at the end of the tutorial it was suggested that you can use scraps as long as you use a consistent contrast color to define the star points. Simple pattern and detailed directions for two basic blocks that we likely have all made previously. Finishes small but can easily be made larger with borders. Good baby quilt size as presented. Two Charm Quilt or make it scrappy

Thanks for the link to the video, WMUTeach. Today I’m all about pinning, pinning, pinning to get my quilt top pieced. Should have it soon. Then it’s off to a coffee shop this afternoon with a friend for a nice long chat.

    Default 3D Pinwheel Block

I found a tutorial for a cute 3D Pinwheel block. The instructions start with a 5" square, but the first step is to cut it into four 2.5" squares. I can't wait to try it out with my Candy stash: https://www.getasquiltingstudio.com/...-tutorial.html

I got the top done! Well, it still needs threads and dog ears trimmed but that’ll have to wait a few hours. DH actually chose the blue. Check out the similarity to the sky. Got to love WNC skies!

@Janice McC Oh my goodness, that’s gorgeous! I love scrappies like this, a bit of control in the chaos.

Keep the candy patterns coming! I’ve marked a plethora of pages of potential patterns so far!

Thanks for the pinwheel link,, JENNR8R. I have seen them in other posts but not this small. I like the pillows in the tutorial. What a fresh summer look for a patio, boat or.... my couch! Tee-Hee-Hee.

Janice, your quilt is lovely and do let your hubby know he made a perfect color choice to match the sky. What a man! What a quilt!

I have been adding rows to my checkerboard quilt today and this evening finishing the binding on my yellow/orange 2.5 chain quilt.Yea! Only minutes away from a February finish. Whoo-Hoo That is one! Two more to quilt and bind and only a week and a smidge left to the month. Yikes.
