Thank for the individual message, CF. At one time responding to each sender was part of the guidelines for this group. It was easier to do before the format of the site changed. Ah,,,, the good old days.

I will be sending the PM with the July birthday's later today. We have a July 1 birthday and don't want our swapper to have belated surprises. Get your packages and stamps ready!

Ibex, you mentioned that you found one of my sets of candies from years ago (in a PM). Which one? Colors? I am curious. I found some last year from the year before in the roller bag that I take to quilt retreats. Time to sort them out in to their color families.

Mailed both July packets today! One should be super early….and the other should hopefully at LEAST be on time! 😆

Just did a MAJOR cleanup of my quilting room, which had slowly and sadly become the “chuck whatever I don’t have a place for yet” place. Maybe I can, you know… quilt in there soon!

Mailed my two envelopes yesterday afternoon, well I dropped them in the mailbox anyway. Glad I did because we had a terrific thunderstorm last evening that knocked out our electricity. Car was in the garage, where else would it be? But the garage door is electric. No going to the post office today! Any way, power came back this evening and the frig is humming, the lights are glowing and the freezer is freezing just as it should. And the car has been released from garage prison.

Thank to all of you early swappers. Yippie for you!

Hey, Hey, Hey Look what I found online this evening. A block from Lori Hold that uses only 2.5's. She must have feeling our need of a new pattern!. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfmnNoZye_Q

A tutorial and not just a pattern. Stitch on my friends.

I opened my laptop this morning to an abundance of email including one from Fabric 406. A newer site to me. But this morning's tutorial makes use of 2.5's and two companion cuts, a 2.5 X4 and a 2.5X6. This creates a simple but clean, sharp 6" blocks. The real pay off is that this blogger showed six different lay outs that would create lovely and interesting finishes. It is listed as simple beginner block and well, it is, but the end result could be impressive.

Candy squares are going out today to July’s birthday gals.

WMUTeach, what an interesting idea for candy squares. I love the block and all the different settings.

Was just straightening out a closet in the sewing room and ran across a quilt top I completely forgot about made of candy squares with sashing between the 9 patches. Oh, dear! Guess that’s got to get in the queue to be quilted after my Boom blocks are done. I’ve got several more sets of those. Sheesh! It’s beginning to feel overwhelming!
