Oh, JENNR8R, I like how you made use of our 2.5 squares. A charming little doll quilt. I particularly like the honey bee fabric on the feet, tummy and muzzle. So like a bear to have honey on his tummy, mouth and feet. Hope it is a winner at the fair.

Remember the tutorial where you sewed a line down 2 sides, cut in half along the diagonal and sewed the back into hourglass blocks? I found that the hourglass ones were a tad bigger than 2.5 when complete so if you trim them down to 2.5, you can make an Ohio star. Super easy. I’ll try out a mini basket next.

Nice use of of that tutorial. I think it was from Bonnie Hunter, maybe? I have made a bunch of them to scatter through other other projects. Clever girl, Reba!

Good morning everyone. What a lovely calm morning in my little part of the mitten. I have to say the Olympic coverage has distracted me from much quilting. Not a 2.5 in sight. Just small progress on my quilting group's mystery quilt. At this point I am not thrilled with my color choices but.... it is a mystery. It will end up as a donation quilt most likely. And..... what are you working on. I am anxious to finish this mystery quilt and move on to other quilts that are calling to me.

Have a grand day and enjoy the summer while it lasts.

Jennr8r, what a beautiful quilt and the candy binding is perfect!

I have stalled a bit on the checkerboard chain flimsy -- I thought I would do a narrow pink border around the quilt and did one side. Took one look at it and it is REALLY pink -- and boyfriend agreed, so back to the drawing board and maybe will put something more calming, like grey, around it instead. Stuff just doesn't turn out to look like I visualized it in my mind! The next project will be a design wall so I can look before sewing!

Pamelor, consider choosing one of the colors in your quilt. I find that often is more pleasing than a color that is a high contrast or more intense. Just a thought.
