Both of my Sept. cards are stamped and addressed, ready to go out in tomorrow's mail.

[QUOTE=Quossum;8658045]Okay, this is RARE for me—usually it takes me several days to get my stuff together—but I mailed BOTH of my September packages today! I dropped them off at two different mailboxes in two different parts of town, because I’m paranoid that way! 😆 QUOTE]

Oh, I don't know if you are silly or if you are wise dropping off envelopes in two mailboxes. It will be interesting which one arrives first. We shall see! Good for you to get them off on day one! I seldom mail on day one, but always soon after. I will do a quick check on mine tonight while watching the convention. (I watch both.)

JENNR8R is correct. We have two birthdays October, November and December.

Thanks! I think I’ve got 4 more prepped, so I’ll get a couple more put together. Yay!

I think I may have to move to Michigan. It is way too hot in both Louisiana and Mississippi.

Terriamn -- your quilt looks great!

But, but, but.... Think of how they suffer with the cold there, while we sail through our mild winters. Don't goooooooooooo!

My cards went out today too.

Welcome, ibez but yes we do get cold in the winter months. Sadly, not as cold as 30-40 years ago. In years past we could plan on a week or two of zero or below zero temps. It seems that now our coldest days are in the 20's with a rare teen temp. More rain than snow which our ski resorts and outdoors facilities miss terribly. Even birders are finding that migratory visitors are going farther north in the spring and not leaving as early in the fall. Global warming is as evident here as it is in your southern states.

Just so you who are desirous of my cooler weather, Monday/Tuesday it is supposed to be in the 90's with high humidity. It all balances out.

I have spent most of the afternoon working on my 2.5 quilt. The pattern I have chosen has 99 blocks and I have about 50 made. Photos to come in 3 days.

The great thing about warming trends is they are followed by cooling trends with no harm to anyone. It all balances out.

This morning I went to the post office to mail my candies and the clerk was one I don’t care for. She always tells me my envelopes cost $1.60 to mail. This time I asked her politely to check the little gizmo they have that checks to see if your envelopes are too thick to send as a regular envelope. Fancy that they both fit through without any problem.. postage was $1.01 not $1.60. So then she feels the envelope and says are you sure this isn’t a powdery substance or something like that, which you shouldn’t be mailing. I said no it was fabric and would be happy to open them to show her. I had complained to her already she was constantly overcharging me so I thought this might appease her. But no she gave me the look and sent them on the way. Now that I know she works on Fridays I will make sure to go on a different day.

Terriamn, she sounds like a sourpuss. So sorry you have had to deal with her.

Sewbizgirl, your birthday candy envelope was here when I raced to my box upon returning home!!! Thank you!! If I move to Michigan in the summers it will be as a snowbird only. I have relatives up there so I have been keeping my eye on the weather. And then when WMUTeach starts telling us temps, it is hard not to want to be up there during the summers. You and your DH can come and visit when you aren't with the grands :-)

Now begins the LONG wait to my bday. I won't open any of the envelopes until the weekend after my birthday this year... I have a trip to PA to take my birthday week so no bday treasures until I return. Since I am working in New Orleans all week this semester, my DH knows to let me know when the packages arrive so I can report them to you.

My students are wonderfully attentive this semester. It is great getting to teach in person again. I teach geography. It is interesting seeing the interest in geography now that there is a VP candidate that has taught geography in his past as well as being a coach. Nothing better than hearing folks talk about geography! Now if I could get my students interested in quilting.... I will keep trying.
