Hello everyone, candies are in the mail. I finally quilted and bound Checkerboard Chain over the weekend. This was my first attempt at FMQ and let's just say, mixed results. It got better as I progressed through the quilt. WMUTeach, thank you for the idea about picking out a color already in the quilt for the border. The darker color worked better than the shocking pink I'd planned. What was I thinking, I don't even like pink! I went with the multi-colored binding because (1) I'd already made it before I had second thoughts and (2) boyfriend actually liked it.

    Heppy Labor Day weekend! --Pam

Pamelor, lovely finish on the checkerboard chain. I so like that pattern. I may have to do it again in other colors and larger. Mine was a 42X42 baby quilt.

    Packages to Date:
    JENER8R
    Gaijin
    Travelinggramma
    Janice McC
    Patrick's Mom
    Quossum

These squishy packages are tempting me.

Have nothing new to show. As I am packing up I took 7 quilts and gave them to a friend who works with homeless etc. She called and asked if a worker could buy them and use funds for shelter. I was thrilled as I know the funds will go a long way. I don’t want to know how much she donated but sure do feel great about someone buying some!

TG, how nice of you to sell your work and support the shelter in a way you weren't even planning on. Congratulations! and three cheers to the gal who made the purchase and donation to the shelter.

WMUTeach, I like your black and white! And funny that you are thinking of making CC in a bigger size. After making a big quilt in really bright colors, I'm looking forward to smaller projects and muted colors. I think I've had enough brights for a bit.

Pamelor, I don't have many brights because I lean toward civil war reproduction colors so my "bright" is pretty muted. I love the snazzy, wild brights but I just never buy them for quilts.......I wear them Tee-hee-hee! Long ago my favorite "interview suit" was fuchsia. It made me happy and feel positive. I have started to make piles of little 3" four patches from scraps, they may be the start of something like the CC. But who knows how I will use them.

The black and white are my attempt to clean out my bin of black and white fabric that has been sitting unused for a long time. This pattern is simple and easy to chain piece. Hoping to finish it by Friday, layer it on Saturday and quilt it Sunday and Monday. OK, that is the plan let's see what REALLY happens.

Keep quilting my friend. Search out plans for 2.5's your "day" is coming soon.
