The ornaments here some crochetted, some knitted, some quilted, hand stitched, machine embroidered, ball ornaments with pretty sequins and fabric.. wooden deer and all sorts of others that i surely missed. It is so fun to see how different they are. Idea central. What a great book: Handmade Ornaments by Quilting Board Members.. sheesh how to's on each page we could get rich! I bought a felt ornament book Fa la la felt Ornaments for some ridiculous amount of cash and it has 20 or so different ornaments in it. Great pictures but sure would have liked more ideas for the money. lots of modern ideas .. we have tons of variety here! so good for you ladies (and gentlemen?) we are fantastic (grin). Oh and grann of 6 makes beautiful ornaments out of the lace they are worthy of hanging in the window all winter long as snowflakes dont end at Christmas up here in the mountains.

Brat, that's a nice idea, but what would we do with the proceeds?? Who would organize putting the book together?

FQ's, Ornaments things like that and as soon as they have someplace semi-permanet or permanet we can send them, possibly one of us can collect them all... I really don't think it's a great idea to send things now, cards yes, she can read those and put in an envelope if she wants to keep them... Most of you don't realize what it's like... I didn't go through it totally but was in a Hurricane when I first moved to Florida, I'm still afraid of the wind... 2 doors down from us the water was up 3 foot in thier house,, We were blessed we stayed dry... I cooked and fed and helped people with wash etc... John went and helped rebuild a neighbor's whold downstairs he didn't have insurance... I reall consider all those people who lived close by lucky as they were alive and did have an upstairs to sleep in and were able to get rebuilt in no time, very little mold etc... Where Krystyna and other friends are, they aren't so lucky,,, maybe lucky to have a place to sleep and water to drink and food to eat but not much else... Save the fancy things for when things are better for her... bright cards and lots of smilely faces on them... Lot of love can be tucked in a card... She knows you care....

What a great idea. I have a suggestion. We have the Secret Santa going on here on the board & there's a few of us in this swap that are in that one. Why don't we put together SS packages for her? Well, you get the idea anyway. As we collect things or make things, get or make an extra to send to her for when she has someplace to light. You're right, she'll appreciate it more then.

Prayers and cards are most helpful right now, but for sure we can sure brighten her day down the road, but it's going to be several weeks or months yet. She calls and is grateful for the prayers, but stuff is burdensome for her right now. Right now she's in a gas line and has been for many hours...

My son was in line eight hrs yesterday, car died twice.
when we send thngs to Krystina, lets not to forget small toiletries like q tips, asprin bandaids. These things add up and eat into your food budget.when she is settled we can even get her a giftcard for the food store.
That craft books sounds like a great idea. Something to think about next yr.
Money proceeds...to either the people whos ornies are in the book or
    a fund...hurricane survivors.
Any way, im getting down from my soapbox.
    own people like Krystina
