DJ I received your package last night.

Givio, that's a great idea. Mine arrived last night, so I am saved for this time around, but one never knows~!!

    Morning folks,

Months ago I created the color theme swap and have seen much success and great fabrics sent from one end of the country to another. It’s been fun for me, and hope it has for you, too! Since the inception, I’ve had a lot of requests to do “this” color next, or don’t ever do “that” color or I won’t join, etc. I’ve tried to keep the swap the way I had intended, by drawing colors at random so it is fair and not geared more towards any one particular person’s request. Sometimes we get the same people, sometimes different ones, and sometimes they drop out for other reasons…but we’ve always had more than the minimum amount of swappers, so we don’t get duplicates back. Nice!

What are your thoughts on the process? Would you rather I take a vote during each swap for the next color? We’ve already done Blue, Purple, Pink, Orange, Red. We have all KINDS of things remaining: Yellow, Aqua, Brown/Tan, White/Cream/Neutral, Black & White, Floral, Polka Dots, Brights, Civil War, floral, Black Background, White Background, Batiks, Pastels, Sewing Motifs, Animals, Children’s theme, Primary Colors, Holidays….the list is long ladies. If we do change it over to a vote, I would do so in the room and not via PM, with each participant getting one vote each. No commentaries along with it, just….one single vote. I suggest this so it is transparent to everyone. “Whatever the rest decides” is not a vote. Hehehe.

Your call. Vote? Or Keep drawing out of the hat?
    Thoughts? Comments?

If we get to vote: I vote for Yellow!

I like your list to vote on, too! So many choices & we could just go down your list in order that you listed, that way, all swappers could plan when they want to swap & it gives them time to gather supplies! You are such a wonderful host!
    hugs,
    dj

I like the way you are doing it now, continue as it is.

Every color has a chance at being drawn. Yes, sometimes it may not be one of my favorites and I can choose not to participate for a month ..... or I can choose to participate and expand my horizons. Hosting has its good days and not-so-good experiences and you're doing an awesome job on this swap.

I like the hat method. Random for everyone. I know some who swap never post, so might be more fair for them. It is nice to know what else is in the hat so I can plan ahead and pick up on sale colors when I see them.

I like the hat drawing too! I think it is fair for everyone and no partiality to any few. Sooner or later everyone's color will be included. You've done a fantastic job Red! so my vote would be to keep it just like it is.
My green bundle is still taking the scenic route, it's been in transit for a very long time

I'd say keep doing it the way you are... You don't need a consensus, you're the boss. Anyone who doesn't like the month's swap can bow out until there is a swap they are interested in. You can never please everyone, tho I know you would like to! <3

Some of the color "suggestions" from members have come across as pushy, to me.... I wish everyone would just relax and sit back and wait for the colors to be posted. Then join or not, as desired.

I like the hat method. You are doing just fine. But if you are going to continue, i would like you to tell us the new color and the next color. I have to shop on line and need extra time to obtain enough fabric for some colors or topics. Even if you tell us 1 color ahead, we won't ship until that color swap thread is posted. Swappers would be tempted to ship together to save postage but it would drive you crazy, which would not be right to do to our great leader. These are my thoughts. Jane

What a lovely idea: ship 2 months together to save postage!! :-) I hadn't thought of that.
