Also, do you have the right needle? That can make a large difference. You need to have a 90/14 metallic needle for most of them. Also, what brand of Metallic? Superior Thread website has lots of info on threads and it could help if we are not doing it here.

QM, is that a Rambo squirrel? Or is it a police-fox? I am off my gourd on Dayquil and can't quite decide what's going on in your picture.

Hehe I have a 90/14 quilting needle on there right now. It's harder than heck to find anything other than universal around here. It's a little loopy but I think that's the stitch itself and having to deal with metal bending against its wishes. Mostly it's the way it flies off it's spool and it's so thin it doesn't stay where you put it. I'm half done and it's ok. Not trying to win contests or anything, and it's pretty so ain't gona mess with it now! hehehe. I'll put up a pic when it's done.

Do you have one of those thread nets to put around the thread? That will help it from coming off that fast. I don't know what they're called...reminds me of what grapes are packaged in at the grocery store. Make sense????

You know that.. I do.. but I did just make a change, instead of having it sideways, I put my extra peg on top and stuck it on there and that helped a LOT. Like.. amazingly a lot.. ahahah.I got 2 more sections to go and then the snowflake part is done. This hurts my back cause I sew at my dining table. bleh.

Something I learned about thread is that it is wound differently on your spool. Some are cross grain which is good to let stand on end and some that are smooth filled and have to be laid on side and how it comes off has to be on its side. Learned this at the longarm class when trying to use differnt threads. Was real interesting. See, 90/14 quilting needle will give you grief also. Really should be a metallic needle, do we need to send you a pack?

AH you didnt sya it was for applique that is harder still I think so much so close together. its awfully pretty however so kuddos to you kid. Today I spent being green so going back to bed to rethink my color choice. tomorrow will be a better day. finished the top for my daughters table runner love the pattern did not once check how big it would be when done and not once did I think wow another 12" square and another 3.5 border and its HUGE she has a little table so its not going to work at all ever, even slightly. So its rip it apart or say hell with it and make something else. currently quilting a stuffed turkey forher. heck with it. next year is always coming around too. not my day.

hehe yes, that whole small and close together is a major part of what had me paralyzed to start. Then the super thinness of the metallic thread.. then my omg this is for another person who will get to see all the flaws....Just had to git 'er done.

awwww poor oversized table runner.. keep going and make a lap quilt hahaha.

Anastasia what a lovely table topper - I'm a fellow Minnesotan and seeing the snowflake makes me long for winter. I've been watching this thread for a week and have decided to throw my name in the hat. I love winter and this should be fun.
